Halloween Weekend!

Hi everyone-
This weekend was so fun- on a while one of th
e best since Ive been here. It started off on Thursday night with Jamie's surpise birthday party on the roof. She definitly was surprised and we all had a good time drinking and hanging out together. We have recently started hanging out with the kids from Anthony's program a lot more. They are so fun. Friday night we went on a Halloween- themed boat cruise with them- cruising around Sydney Harbor, all-you-can-drink and eat, and awesome music pumping = a really fun night! The boys were dressed hilariously- a matador, a clown, a preist, a genie (complete with a tiger tattoo) etc. I went as a cowgirl with my cowboy boots- I didnt feel like buying a costume, and Anthony was a skier.

The next day Anthony took me and his two friends to the Sydney Toronga Zoo. He got free passes from his internship at ING which is a sponsor of one of the Zoo's exhibits. It was soooooo amazing- you take a ferry there from downtown Sydney, and it is on its own isolated peninsula! Gorgeous views of the city, and this is all before you evern get to the zoo! I saw hippos, chimps, giraffes, lions, tigers, bears, seals, kangaroos, koalas- you name it. The lions were so cute, they reminded me of Angel. The chimps were also so amazing- anyone who doesnt believe in evolution should watch these guys in action. They are so smart and cute. The funniest part of the day was when an Orangutan hid under a garbage can in his play area. Other people showed up and were like "where is it" and little do they know he is hiding under the garbage can. I couldnt wait for him to pop out and scare everyone. Smart animals. Then last night pretty much everyone went to a bar down the street called SideBar. They had a Halloween party- most of mine and Anthony's program was there, and a girl from my work too! It was really fun dancing with everyone. A downside of the night was when a bartender spilled a drink on me, but hey at least I got a free drink out of it.

In case anyone was interested, my internship has been OK....Im doing a rotation so my first 2 weeks were in banquets and now im going to the restaaurant called Mosaic, then the Lobby Bar, and finishing at Concierge. I like working at the Westin and the people are really nice, but I happy I am moving out of Banquets. I dont think I could have handled another day of that. Ill keep everyone updated- hopefully the weather is going to get nicer here so I can get a tan before I come back! Miss you XOXO~ Jessica
